7 ways To Use Affirmations in Your Daily Life
Repeating I AM statements is a life changing practice.
Life changing-sounds positive, right? Not always. I AM...not good enough, too old, not likeable, always messing up, not motivated enough to start my own business. These become our reality. Without realizing, self-talk is most often negative. We're almost conditioning ourselves to self-sabotage. I am so guilty of this.
I never realized how my words truly have the power to elevate or deflate.
So, I decided to change my trajectory and Create My Life, on Purpose.
For the past few months, I decided I'm gonna flip the script! If I'm talking to myself, my dialogue is ONLY going to be positive--no exceptions. If I'm not my own best advocate, who then?
It all started with writing the same 10 positive I AM statements in a journal surrounding where I see myself in 10 years (my future self). "I am my own boss; creative for a living" is one that I've been writing. I am not there yet, but getting closer by the day. Let me tell you, friends-- LIFE CHANGING (in a good way!). The statements are written in the present tense because they formulate, affirm, and perpetuate the stories I tell myself. If you find you’re constantly anxious and can’t seem to get out of your own way, here’s some great affirmations for those moments.
When used often, positive affirmations can shift your thoughts so you can create the reality you want.
Where you place your focus and what you say to yourself, becomes your reality.
Affirmations are a great way to help you practice self-care and affirm your amazingness! Seeing how powerful 'I AM' statements can be, I use Gabby Bernstein’s Card Deck as an add-on to my daily journaling practice. They are lovely little ways to get my mind right for the day and the perfect way to bring "I am..." positive messages into your day-to-day dialogue with yourself. More than ever these days, we all need a little reminder to be patient and loving with ourselves.
